Position Overview:

Spearhead the management and coordination of our Arabic language program and teachers.The Arabic Language Program is an educational Arabic language program that provides an opportunity for youth ages 7-14 years old to develop an understanding of the Arabic language. The program coordinator works with the program staff to develop an appropriate curriculum and plan activities that are consistent with the mission of ACCESS of WNY. The Arabic Language Program will also focus on providing value centered education; such as, assisting children with developing interpersonal skills and character. This position is 6 hours/week – 09:30am to 12:30pm (Saturday and Sundays). Interested applicants may email their resume to jobs @ accesswny.org.

Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):

  • Interview and hire a diverse staff team, with an emphasis on filling needed positions with identified skill sets
  • Plan, initiate and guide the units of study in English/Arabic which involve speaking, listening, writing, and reading
  • Develop strong professional relationships with community partners, high schools, and volunteer agencies to obtain volunteers
  • Promote programs in the community to increase awareness and utilization of services offered
  • Facilitate the orientation and training of staff to enhance their skill set and onboard new hires while providing supervision and performance evaluations
  • Plan and implement program orientations and open houses for the various programs to disseminate information on the services provided.
  • Use teaching methods that are engaging and effective
  • Classroom instruction
  • Effectively manage each group of students while providing for a variety of learning styles, ability levels, and educational backgrounds
  • Scheduling the daily schedule for the programs offered
  • Maintaining rosters of enrollees
  • Monitor program budget and timely payment for services rendered including fundraising for the program
  • Focused instruction and assessment on student learning that meets grant requirements
  • Attend all necessary internal meetings (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual)
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications

  • Must be bilingual in Arabic/English
  • Some experience in program development strongly preferred
  • Minimum High School Graduate, some college preferred
  • Outgoing, able to develop relationships and work well with youth/parents
  • Ideal candidate will have knowledge about project management best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

Job Type: Part-time

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
